Board and Leadership
Bishop Lawrence Chiles
Jay Johnson, Chair
J Fred Kauffman, Treasurer
Fred and his wife, Minh, have lived in Philadelphia since 1994. Fred was pastor of West Philadelphia Mennonite fellowship for 11 years and then served as Philadelphia Program Coordinator for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) for eight years.
The Kauffmans served with MCC for 13 years in Guatemala, India, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Fred has been on the Crossroads Board since 2006. “In our MCC work, we always depended on good local partners who understood their context. That’s what Crossroads is – a good partner in Fairhill that understands how to minister to the people and situations here.”
Ben Kunkle, Secretary
Rod Rush
Rodney Rush lives in Quakertown, PA with his wife Lynne and children Ben and Emily when they are not studying in college. Rod grew up hearing about Crossroads at West Swamp Mennonite Church, where he has been a long time member. When Rod is not working at Bergey's Commercial Tire Service in Hatfield, he enjoys bike rides with his wife and watching sports, especially baseball and the 76ers.
He also enjoys taking people to Crossroads for a visit. "I am willing to drive you down to the Fairhill section of Philly to visit Crossroads. Just let me know and away we can go."
A board member since 2007, Rod finds that he is blessed by his involvement with Crossroads.
